Police say the driver, a 51-year-old from the locale, has been captured.

Karl-Diminish Jochem, a Trier police representative, said the suspect was being addressed and that the threat "was finished". "Regarding the man's rationale, we can't utter a word yet," he added.
Chancellor Angela Merkel's representative Steffen Seibert called the episode "stunning". "[Our] contemplations are with the family members of the people in question, the many harmed and every one of the individuals who are assisting with thinking about those influenced," he said on Twitter.
